Whether you like to photograph the grand vistas illuminated by dramatic angled light or prefer to render the more intimate scenes that showcase the finer details, this location offers you the inspiration and opportunity to bring your creative vision to life.

This workshop is designed to not only capture the beauty of Yosemite by day but to also incorporate significant night shooting. Yosemite looks spectacular in the moonlight. With the waterfalls being full and a full moon we will be working on capturing the ethereal moonbows and then the milky way splayed across the sky after moonset.

Activity Level : Mild

The small group workshop is set up to incorporate hands on learning for both acquisition of images in the field as well as optimal post processing for image rendition. Each participant is encouraged to identify their personal style and fine tune individual creative vision.

Each day we will be chasing the weather and light for optimal atmospheric conditions. During the day we will be taking breaks to recover from the night shooting as well as incorporate post processing plus image critique sessions. The workshop has been specifically timed for optimal window to capture moon bows at the base of Upper and Lower Yosemite falls.

Itinerary Summary

April 29th: Workshop begins at 4 pm.

April 30th: All day shooting with dedicated post processing sessions mid day and night shooting for moonbows and moonscapes.

May 1st: All day shooting with dedicated post processing sessions mid day along with image critique. Sunset shoot will be followed by night photography for moon bows and landscape photography under the full moon.

May 2nd: Workshop ends mid morning.

Note - Does not include accommodations or meals. Participants are requested to make their hotel reservations at Yosemite View Loddge in El Portal for the duration of the workshop. Entry to park is guaranteed.

Cancellation Policy

If workshop is canceled due to unforeseen circumstances a full refund will be issued. If canceled by participant 90 days before start of workshop the deposit can be applied to a future workshop of your choice. Full payment is due 90 days before workshop begins. No refunds are issued for cancellations made within 90 days of start of workshop.

Detailed itinerary and packing list will be sent to registered participants 60 days before the workshop begins.
